The ex- Brazilian soccer player Romario was fined not to be put under a control of blood level of alcohol in a detent installed by the Brazilian authorities in a street of Rio de Janeiro, informed this Tuesday official sources.

The fact happened at dawn of Monday and Romario preferred to receive a fine of 957.70 real ones (about 390 Euros) that to make a control that would measure the alcohol content in its breath, according to a spokesman of the secretariat of Government of the state of Rio de Janeiro.

Although the Brazilian legislation he prohibits that conductors assume the steering wheel after to have ingested spirits and to that the guards they count on modern controls of blood level of alcohol, the conductors cannot be forced to be put under such tests.

The imposition of the control would violate the right of the citizens not to produce tests against themselves.

The vehicle drived by Romario was stopped in a detent that had mounted in the district of Bar of Tijuca.

Besides paying the fine and to lose points in the file of its license to lead, the ex- goleador abstained to explain the reason for its rejection to the examination and was forced to call to a friend so that it continued directing his vehicle.

The fine was imposed one week after the goleador initiated its political race when appearing in a program of electoral propaganda of Partido Brazilian Socialista (PSB), formation to which it register and by that it can dispute a mandate to regional deputy in the elections of next October.

The ex- soccer player and today leader of the America club assures that she wants to enter in the policy to be able to follow with his project to take care of minors in poor areas, to 2,000 which already offers classrooms of soccer in an institution.
